Bronze Greek Coin #1 [решено]

6 сообщений • просмотрено 123 раз
Hello, I would like to ask for some help with the ID of a few coins. This is the first one (bronze, 1.4g/11.5mm).

On one side there is a bearded head (Zeus?) facing right. On the other side there is what looks like a horse carrying a hackle or a canopy over the back.

Thanks for your help!
Bruno
The other side you may interpret as Pegasus.

Thanks for the reply.
I also thought of Pegasus but I can't find any correspondence, even though it really looks like a horse.

So said, considered the head, the wings of the animal and the fact that the silhouette of the animal seems very thick, couldn't it be something like this?

The Obv. looks similar, but the Rev. differ in the muzzle of beast. It should be something different.

Though the period of coinage and the style are very close. You may look for the cities which were connected with Adramyttion. I mean, people from which another city established it, or which other cities where established by citizens of Adramyttion.
