Hello,

I think these features will help to add coins:

1. Button to create a new page based on existing one (copy page to a new one)
2. Add a checkbox "the same as for obverse" near the line "Source of the picture" on "Reverse (back)" and "Edge". Or to automatically copy it from the obverse in case of leaving it blanc
3. Edit link with change requests (the same as for creation requests)
4. When you add a link from a new coin to any other, it shall be automatic change request for the second (old) coin page to allow the country referee to decide if it shall be a cross-link
5. To show a small-sized pictures after uploading of obverse/reverse/edge pictures to prevent mistakes. Alternately it can be auto checking whether there same photo was uploaded to both fields.
6. Support drag&drop addition of pictures
7. When an issuer has been selected, on the "Currency" tab only currencies for that issuer shall be shown. If needed currency of other issuer, add near that a button "Other currencies".
8. Preview function

Very interesting features, especially for those who make a lot of new additions/change requests.
Without wanting to hijack your post, I'd like to add a third feature because it serves the same purpose, making additions/changes easier:

3. "Edit" link with change requests. This link already exists for creation requests but not for change requests. There is only a "Cancel" link. So when you notice a small mistake or you forget something after your change request is made, you can't edit your request to correct your mistake or add something. So you can only click on "Cancel" and you have to start all over again, or you have to make a second change request for the same coin. That "Edit" link will fix that problem.

@Grinya: if you like this suggestion too, add it to your first post to avoid this one will be overlooked.
+1 for all three!
@Essor Prof, thank you, I've added your suggestion to the first post

One more idea: when you add a link from a new coin to any other, it shall be also a link from the other coin to a new one (after validation of a new one). Or at least automatical change request with a link to a new coin shall be created

Good suggestion. The current process of selecting country and currency is exhausting. Sometimes I'd rather give up adding coins than browsing the long drop down list every time.

I also suggest we can add coin in an “what you see is what you get” style. Edit every field in the position we see them daily in coin pages. Not in a long questionnaire style form.

Support draging pictures into browser, letting
users explicitly know which area is obverse/reverse/edge (now I often have to look very caufully not to upload “reverse” image into “edge” area)

Making adding new coins easy is very rewarding improvement to the website. Becaue catalog is most important asset.
Hello.
I really like three suggestions. But we had previously discussed the fourth proposal. There are cases when you do not need to cross-link two pages, but only one page. I would suggest the option to link pages with cross-links or just add a link to another page.
@Cyrillius, I think automatic change request will be the best solution. And country referee will can decide.

@aephi, you can start to type the name of the country or currency and it will be quickly found.

I've updated the first post based on your opinions, thank you!

I like your third idea a lot! This feature would help a lot as I make many little mistakes:D

The same request has been asked here, but not answered. This would be a very good idea especially to cut down on the time it takes to select something from a drop down box.

high support for all!:wiz:

Indeed, I have one more to add:
It would be great to have a button to hide reverse picture.
There are a lot of bracteatas, or one-sided mints, and even more uniface banknote, which, pratcically does not have a reverse, but it looks very stupid in catalog, like it would be an unfinished page.
Some examples:

some look weirder than others, if we would disable the pic, it would be obvious: there is nothing to wait for the coin does NOT have a reverse :)
14 661 of which photos are missing, either one side or both sides. almost 10 % of the catalog (;0

he is one-eyed
It seems that unifaces have no reverse

So, you say it makes sense, right?
If you find that normal.
the photo is however also a security for your collection: to recognize them in case of problem.

Not quite true. This was a problem in the past, but now you just go to the unpublished page and click on the bottom to "Modify or add data on this page" - you are free to add, edit or what ever else you want to do with it... this was a good add-up to the website!

Absolutely: just wait for the request to be accepted or refused then return to the page to make a new request by correcting its error.

Hi
As stated, in case of a mistake or lack of info entered on already pending coin/bill page, you open it from "my requests" page and go and change whatever you like over "Modify or add data on this page" command. Try it.
No extra need for "Edit" command, though the "Modify or add data on this page" command could also be visible on top, so you don't need to scroll down.

Thanks for your offer. I also see it as a problem, but I also think it deserves separate thread to discuss. Personally I think that the best solution will be to add the second picture even in case it is blank. But the "hide" button is also possible in case of old pages.

Some general rule for such cases shall be elaborated

This possibility only exists for referents, for lambda we make a new request with or without deletion of the first

"Modify or add data on this page" command makes sense for the referents in order to draw from their documentation.

You overlooking something. We are talking about an edit button for change requests. You are talking about new additions (where you indeed can change your input as often as you want).

With change requests, you only have a cancel button, there is no "Modify or add data on this page" so in case of a mistake or if you have forgotten something you can only cancel and start over again. Very annoying, especially for big change requests.
Still no news here?

Amongst the others, I really would like to see that "edit" link on change request pages. I'm sorry but I regularly make a small mistake or I forget something small, like here:

MEDIO REAL must be two separate lines and fineness must be 0,900 in stead of 0.900. I saw it in time (before the referee's approval) but there still isn't an "edit" link on the change requests like on the new additions so I have to do it all over again or make a new change request to correct it. I only keep pictures of my own coins and overwrite pictures I look up on the internet to improve our catalogue (like in this example). The pictures of this coin were already gone when I saw the little mistakes so I have to search them again, crop them again, putting them in a correct upright position, enlarge them again. You see, cancelling a change request and do it all over again really isn't an option. And making a second change request just to correct a small mistake or to add something small is annoying. A simple edit link will fix that all. And it can't be difficult because we already have that on the new addition pages.
If you can still see the request there is no need to re-do your pictures just open the pictures of your request in a new tab and save them again ... at least for now.
Yes, thank you. I knew that and already did that several times, just didn't think about it when I wrote this post. But of course, that "edit" link would it all make a lot easier. It can't be difficult to implemet and I can't think of any disadvantage whatsoever if that link is there.
Editing modifications is a must to make it easier to change small changes as mentioned above. There are several posts about this request but still nothing

I have found that some of these requests are implemented, others have their own topic:

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

Hey everyone.

I have no idea if this is the place to ask this, but I figure it doesn't matter too much.

I have this coin. N#7145

It's a Belgian coin with the dutch text.

I also have the french text variant, but it seems that there isn't a page for that specific coin.

I was wondering if someone can make a page for it? I'm too clumsy to create a page like that so thanks in advance!

hey everyone!
i just started collecting coins and it really grew on me
have a nice day!

Well… you should create a new topic, instead of replying here with a subject unrelated.
