In numista it's always necessary to PROOVE things, to add things the source(s) are needed
To delete things it's also needed to see, if no members have indicated, they own the coin, BUT not alone, it's also needed to give a proof, that the coin was never made! On the other hand, if not owned by any member, I suppose, it can be deleted anyway.
If later somebody shows up and can proove the coin actually exists, then it can be added again!
Most of the time the data was taken from the KM catalogs, yes, numista was (and is) a copy / paste from KM, but by now largely enriched, but it still does NOT have its own NUMBERING SYSTEM ! It has also been seen that year lines have been added, without the necessary PROOF. It depends on the referee assigned to a country.

Цитата: "Sjoelund"KM has some financial problems and for some years we don't have the KM# for all the new coins, which of course is a bother....
So what reference do people use for newer coins?
We all go on hoping, that KM will be taken over by a solid buyer and that they can go on to give numbers for the missing coins in the past and for the new ones in the future. Cross our fingers. It's too difficult to use 250 (more or less) reference books)

They were, but the result of that needs to be seen! Have you ever thought about the number of coins being sent into the world every year?
The following numbers are from searches in the numista catalog
2015 3650
2016 3412
2017 3516
2018 3374
2019 3165
each coin has to be checked for design, alloy, weight, diameter against the coin from the year before, so it's a substantial workload to make an up to date catalog. I used to be a contributor to the catalogs, now I ,don't know, where I stand, but I think one of the worst decisions of KM was to make the CD, which were completely open to unsolicited copying!!!! Now I think the catalogs are coming on the market again, but ONLY in paper versions.

And, as addition to the request, Schoen and Muenzen Rewiev both report coins dated 1916 A and F to be a probe, I think members who add this coin (A) to its collection lists have previous 1 pfennig (KM#10) which is rather common for 1916A.
